DIY HOMEMADE SURFACE SPRAY

“Not only are bloggers suckers for the remarkable, so are the One of One of the biggest myths out there is that things aren't clean unless you "smell" that cleaning smell. 

I know I used to think that. Are things really clean if I can't smell the chemicals? 

And the answer to that is no. That is simply not true! 

In fact, it has been shown that some natural cleaning products like my favorite essential oil On Guard cleans better than your normal lysol and clorox cleaners. Check out the study done using these cleaners. Shocking! You would have thought that Clorox and Lysol would have taken the lead and knocked out all the germs, but that is not the case as you see. 

Not only are these typically "normal" cleaners are as effective, but they also come with potential health risks including asthma, allergic reactions, eye or skin irritations, hormone disruptions and more. My husband was not able to help clean when we used harsh cleaners full of toxins because he would start to gag, cough, throat close up and he'd begin to have an anxiety attack. Not only did I not want this for my husband, but I didn't want my kids to be around all of that either.

So, I knew we needed to make a change and start swapping out home. 

You can either start with my favorite toxic free cleaner which is the OnGuard Cleaner Concentrate. As you can see above, it is far more effective and... my favorite part... is that the back of the bottle says in case you ingest, just drink water! And it lasts me a good 6 months for my entire home. That sounds like my kind of cleaner! You can grab that here. Make sure to get a 16 oz glass spray bottle for the cleaner. I get mine from Amazon. 

Or you can simply make your own cleaners that use safe, toxic free ingredients and still get the job done!

There is no need to pull out your rubber gloves and surgical masks when you clean your home. It might surprise you to know that you can concoct simple and inexpensive non-toxic cleaners from ingredients already lying around your house. Using essential oils to create your own cleaning spray is not only safe for the environment, but it is safe for your family as well. This spray is perfect for cleaning hard surfaces in the kitchen, bathroom, etc.

DIY HOMEMADE CLEANING SPRAY RECIPE

Ingredients:

1. ¼ cup white vinegar

2. 1 ¾ cups water

3. 30 drops essential oils (my favorite to use)

4. 16 oz glass spray bottle (I get mine from Amazon)

Instructions:

1. Add all ingredients to a 16 oz glass spray bottle. 

2. Shake thoroughly. Spritz on surfaces and wipe clean.
